It's good for a nice laugh

Surprised this isn't rated higher...then again, it has little to no plot, no character development, no intrinsic storylines, no romance, little action, no swords, guns, magic, it's not in game format, it's not published by a massive corporation, you aren't famous, you don't have 400 children, you don't practice polygamy and, most importantly, you're being funny, which is wrong.

Also, i just want to let you know sarcasm is awesome.

Loved it!

S-T responds:

YAY FOR SARCASM!!!!! 8D Thank you!

He's right...

Climate change is crap.

I for one think we should kill off all the elephants and use them as weapons in nuclear defense.

It's funny, because Canadian politics acts much the same way. Except the knife wielding Tony Abbot is Jack Layton, and Captain Planet is God.

Also, I have learned all i needed to know about Australian Politics from you, Voigt. Keep up the work, be it good, bad, or throbbing.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

this jack layton sounds awesome if he's getting into knife fights with god.

Important message here Comrades...

But at the same time, you kinda get the hunch that there is more than a "don't be a hedonist" (12 billion awesome points for using that word, by the way). You're almost saying "Yes, this is bad, but people's reaction to it aren't the best things either." there are a lot of subtle messages to this, and it's good to see it on Newgrounds.

Smooth

Too much potential to stay a Demo Reel. that's all i can say.

You get points for concept...

..and that's not really nothing to sneeze at. The fact that you re-drew, re-imagined everything is something that doesn't come around, and show nice creativity on your part.

However, that creativity droops like a rancid penis when you do the whole "Anime-big-power-balls-fists-of-huge-
power-fight-ball-up-fists-for-epic-sp in" thing. It's overdone, and looses its intensity because of that and considering it was running on just that, it's intensity, it trips, falls, and needs your reconceptualization to prop it up. which, as i said, is nothing small.

Artwork was seamless and your music was a good choice, so overall good flash.

How did you do that?

Code? No way you took time out of your day to animate this frame by frame...good music, and a nice artistic twist. I'm also glad the track is on NG. i wouldn't mind hearing this while shuffling through other tunes. You might consider getting this method incorporated to other flashes. This would make a good club/rave-esque setting.

I perceived a Universe in my mind's eye. I'd have to watch it again to see anything in depth to the point where i wouldn't see it before.

As for Kougra Ex's review, i have to disagree. It is a human urge to have things make sense, but its also an urge of this generation to have things brought to us, to be told what to do. Take computer games, to which our demographic labels as pass time. We are told what to do, how to think, without any moral decision on our own. We are unable to think on our own. Why should we? we have our goals set out for us and someone higher up calling the shots. So when something like this flash comes along that is not apparent at first glance, we snub it as "meaningless", simply because it is not telling us what to think.

As for art conveying information, what type of world would that be? If we can widdle down artistic expression to mere utility, then art is forever doomed. Art isn't supposed to be useful. It doesn't produce food, industry, science...all it produces is thought and imagination. These in themselves are apart from the rest, but are no less essential. So in a world where everything must have use, everything must meet an end, is it not refreshing to create something that does not have that end? Isn't there something innocent about creating for the sake of creating?

Heh, I just argued Aesthetics.

Unique

This Apex Twin that you used looks like it has some very good music. Simple story, good art, and maybe even some sort of message instead of just art for arts sake. I wouldn't really give you any advice or anything because i learned not to argue Aesthetics.

Mechabloby responds:

Aphex Twin is an IDM musician - if you liked the song I used in this flash, I'd suggest you listen to some of his ambient works like Mookid; Xtal; Green Calx; Wet Tip Hen Ax; Flim; IZ-US. He's a brilliant musician, and I have been a fan of his works ever since I was about 9. :]

HAH!!!!

You more or less got what i was thinking Shepard was thinking when i was deciding what to say.

Well done

Currently in university doing a dual major in Political Science and Philosophy. I tell the story, but i can draw when i need to. If you want, you can vomit from your eyes if you see my work. Send me the pictures.
